San Leandro police and witnesses said Brittney was wearing earbud-style headphones as she walked near the train crossing and apparently did not hear the Amtrak train approaching, nor did she hear witnesses yelling at her to warn her of the approaching train. The accident happened at about 5:55 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Hesperian Boulevard and Springlake Drive.
