San Leandro Begins Budget Process: Expect Detours

Roadwork in San Leandro will be starting in late August, residents should expect detours.

The construction for San Leandro’s Annual Overlay/ Rehabilitation Project will start in late August, and residents should expect detours.

Road work will be done on Fremont Avenue from Alvarado street to Floresta Boulevard; Floresta Boulevard from Fremont Avenue to Monterey Boulevard; and Farnsworth Street from Monterey Boulevard to approximately 270 feet southwest of the Interstate 880 overpass.

One lane in each direction will be open on Floresta Boulevard and Farnsworth Street.

A detour, shown on this map, will be set up for Fremont Avenue. Fremont Avenue is narrower — making it harder to accommodate construction and traffic at the same time.

There will be an informational meeting with nearby residents and businesses on Thursday, Aug. 29 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the James Monroe Elementary School cafeteria, 3750 Monterey Boulevard.

Roadwork should be completed in late October.
