San Leandro Police Help Fight Crime With National Night Out

If your homeowner association or neighborhood is planning something special, members of SLPD would like to stop by and introduce themselves between the hours of 6:30 and 9 p.m. on August 6.

From San Leandro Police Department

San Leandro Police Department, along with the rest of the country, is hosting National Night Out on August 6.

Join members of the community, SLPD and the Alameda County Fire Deparmtnet in the 20th Annual National Night Out (NNO), sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch.

NNO is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for and participation in neighborhood watch programs and other anti-crime effors; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/comminity relations; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are fighting back against crime.

San Leandro has a long history of participating in NNO. For more than 20 years, members of SLPD have been visiting neighborhood activities throughout the city. In 2012, 32 neighborhood events took place.

If your homeowner association or neighborhood is planning something special on August 6, members of SLPD would like to stop by and introduce themselves between the hours of 6:30 and 9 p.m.
