Safeway Manager Assaulted, Sustained Serious Injuries

Officers are still looking for the suspect who punched a Safeway manager on Monday morning.

On Monday, around 10:55 a.m., officers responded to an assault that happened at the Safeway located on 555 Bancroft Avenue.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20 years old, 5’10” tall with an athletic build. He was wearing a grey shirt and blue jean pants. (See picture above).

He approached the manager inside the story and violently punched the manager for an unknown reason. The Safeway manager fell to the ground and sustained some serious injuries. He was then transported to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect fled the area and has not been located.

“This incident is being actively investigated and we are releasing a video of the incident to help us identify the suspect,” said Lt. Randall Brandt. “Safety is paramount in our community and we will work tirelessly to identify and arrest the suspect who was responsible.”
