Police Log: San Leandro Woman Found With Stolen Mail; Drug Drop-Off Set

Vandals, burglar bust and more from Oct. 13 to 19.

A 20-year-old woman from San Leandro and an Alameda man were arrested Sunday morning in Walnut Creek with a large quantity of stolen mail in their car, police report.

Officers said they stopped the car and found stolen mail from 20 homes inside, as well as property from two cars burglarized in the neighborhood.

In other news, the San Leandro Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit will hold a prescription-drug drop-off Saturday from 10 a.m.  to 2 p.m. at a health fair, hosted by the Praises of Zion Missionary Baptist Church health fair at 1395 Bancroft Ave. 

The department, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration,encourages the public to help prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous prescription drugs. 

Community members can bring expired, unused or unwanted medications for disposal to the police booth. This service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.
