Police Arrest Oakland Woman, Accused of Driving Car Stolen from Alameda

Bonnie Silveria, 44, was arrested on Feb. 10.

San Leandro Police say an Oakland woman was arrested on Monday morning after she was found driving a car stolen from Alameda.

Police are crediting a license plate reading system for alerting a patrol officer to the stolen car.

According to a statement released by police, the officer had been driving Northbound on E. 14th Street, near Juana Ave. around 10:38 a.m. when he was alerted to the stolen car.

The officer stopped the car and arrested 44-year-old Bonnie Silveria on suspicion of auto theft.
