Illegal Guns Recovered Over the Weekend

Patrol officers found two more illegal gun during proactive stops.

Saturday, Sept. 28

  • At approximately 1:10 p.m., a patrol officer was driving in the 1200 block of Davis Street when they recognized a subject they knew had an outstanding arrest warrant. The officer stopped the subject during the investigation, and recovered a concealed loaded firearm from his waistband. The subject, 59-year-old Fernando Rodriguez, was arrested and transported to jail.

  • At approximately 2:50 a.m., a patrol officers made a traffic enforcement stop in the 1800 block of Marina Boulevard. During the investigation, an illegal loaded firearm was recovered from the vehicle. Christopher Kahapea, 25 years old, was arrested and transported to jail.

 

“We really appreciate the hard work our officers are putting in,” said Lt. Randall Brandt. “They continue to be proactive and focused on combatting crime within our community.”
