Female Suspect Commits Bank Robbery Downtown

The Citibank located in downtown San Leandro was robbed by a unknown female on Monday morning.

The San Leandro Police Department's Communications Center received reports of a robbery at Citibank, located at 1300 E. 14th Street on Monday around 9 a.m.

The caller reported that the suspect, a female in her mid twenties with long dark hair, had demanded money from one of the bank tellers. 

The bank teller feared the suspect may be armed, so they cooperated and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect fled the area on foot.

Lt. Randall Brandt stated, "Our detectives are hard at work on this one.  Bank robberies are not that common here in San Leandro and we are reviewing forensic evidence in an effort to establish leads."
