The Crucible: A Passionate Performance by 21 SLHS Students

San Leandro Dramatic Arts had their opening night of The Crucible on Friday at the San Leandro Performing Arts Center.

Written by Arthur Miller, The Crucible is a fictionalized story about the Salem with trials that took place in 1692.

Under the direction of SLHS drama teacher, John Sheridan, the cast put on a wonderful and dramatic performance.

“It’s designed to make you squirm in your seat,” said Sheridan in his opening.

The story and the performance by the cast did just that.

“For the opening night, I think it went really well,” said Michelle Hess. “The acting was passionate and the production was great!”

There are three performances left:

•  Thursday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m.

•  Friday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m.

•  Saturday, Nov. 23 at 8 p.m.

Tickets for students and seniors are $7 and adults are $10. Tickets will be available at the door. To purchase tickets in advance, visit www.sanleandropac.com. Box office opens half an hour before the performance.

San Leandro Performing Arts Center is located at 2250 Bancroft Avenue. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the theatre.
