It offers classes in Tai Chi, the tango, driver safety, ceramics and much more. The Department of Recreation and Human Services publishes an activities guide, which can be viewed on the city's <a href="http://www.sanleandro.org/depts/rec/activities/default.asp">website</a> or picked up at the community center. </p> <p>The Marina Community Center auditorium is also used for Town Hall meetings and other public events. Along with a variety of other rooms, it is available for rent. </p>

Some privately-run activities, and classes held jointly with the San Leandro Adult School are also based here. </p> <p>Activities and services include Tai Chi Chuan, fall prevention, ballroom dancing, blood pressure testing, social groups and reduced price lunches. </p> <p>The public can rent the building or activity rooms in the evenings and on weekends. Room rental applications are available through the city's <a href="http://www.sanleandro.org/depts/rec/facilities/senior_community_center/default.asp">website</a>.</p> <p>The center also acts as the city's emergency operations center in the case of a major crisis. </p> <p>The building is LEED Gold certified by the <a href="http://www.usgbc.org/DisplayPage.aspx?CategoryID=19">U.S. Green Building Council</a>. </p>
