The San Leandro Adult School offers career development courses, continuing education and enrichment…More classes to community members of all ages. The school is part of the San Leandro Unified School District.</p> <p>Students can earn a high school diploma or receive specialized training in fields such as nursing and computer technology. The school also offers English as a Second Language and citizenship courses, family literacy, fitness, handicrafts and basic computer classes. </p> <p>The administrative office is located across the street from San Leandro High School, however classes are held at a variety of locations, including the Community Education Center (1448 Williams Street), churches, community centers and schools. </p> <p>Fees vary depending on the course, with some offered free of charge. Childcare is available at some sites. </p>

The school has approximately 2,700 students, who are split between the new Fred T. Korematsu campus for 9th graders and the main campus for 10th through 12th graders. </p> <p>San Leandro High School has three specialized academies: the San Leandro Academy for Multimedia (SLAM), the Social Justice Academy and the Business Academy. The school also offers special education, visual and performing arts and English language development. Students can also take AP classes in more than 10 subject areas and enroll in technical education programs such as computer science, auto mechanics and graphic design.</p> <p>The school publishes an award-winning student journal, <em>The Cargo</em>, and maintains competitive sports teams, while an after-school program provides students with tutoring and enrichment classes. It serves a diverse student population of San Leandro and San Lorenzo residents. </p> <p>Washington Manor recently got a new gym, locker room, and science labs. </p> <p>Parents can participate in the School Site Council and the Parent, Teacher and Student Association (PTSA). </p> <p>The principal is James Gray. </p>
