The San Leandro Adult School offers career development courses, continuing education and enrichmentMore classes to community members of all ages. The school is part of the San Leandro Unified School District.</p> <p>Students can earn a high school diploma or receive specialized training in fields such as nursing and computer technology. The school also offers English as a Second Language and citizenship courses, family literacy, fitness, handicrafts and basic computer classes. </p> <p>The administrative office is located across the street from San Leandro High School, however classes are held at a variety of locations, including the Community Education Center (1448 Williams Street), churches, community centers and schools. </p> <p>Fees vary depending on the course, with some offered free of charge. Childcare is available at some sites. </p>

The Community Education Center is home to the San Leandro Adult School, which is part of the San Leandro UnifiedMore School District. It also houses a <a href="http://www.chabotcollege.edu/offsite/slcec/">satellite branch</a><a href="http://www.chabotcollege.edu/offsite/slcec/"></a> of Chabot College and a Head Start child care center. The administrative offices for the San Leandro Adult School are located across from San Leandro High School at 2255 Bancroft Ave. The Community Education Center offers a variety of vocational and career development courses, continuing education and enrichment classes to community members of all ages. Areas of study include medical training, English as a Second Language, Citizenship courses, handicrafts and computer classes. Other courses, including continuing high school education, GED prep, and fitness, are held at a variety of other locations (see the school's Web site for details). Fees vary depending on the course, with some offered without charge. Childcare is free Mon - Thu from 8:45am - noon for children aged 2 years 9 months to 5 years (limited space).  The Chabot San Leandro Center offers "short term" (16-week) for-credit classes for transfer to four-year colleges and universities, and for work toward an AS/AA degree and/or certificate. The college also offers general education courses, and will begin offering community education and professional development courses in Spring 2011.
