The school has approximately 2,700 students, who are split between the new Fred T. Korematsu campus for 9th graders and the main campus for 10th through 12th graders. </p> <p>San Leandro High School has three specialized academies: the San Leandro Academy for Multimedia (SLAM), the Social Justice Academy and the Business Academy. The school also offers special education, visual and performing arts and English language development. Students can also take AP classes in more than 10 subject areas and enroll in technical education programs such as computer science, auto mechanics and graphic design.</p> <p>The school publishes an award-winning student journal, <em>The Cargo</em>, and maintains competitive sports teams, while an after-school program provides students with tutoring and enrichment classes.
