As I said initially: no one cares (except you and I and a handful of others). Good luck! I willRead More be waiting for the revolution, I know that the only way to slay Goliath is in battle, not talking.

larry - all anyone has to do is look at the books ....we pay a lot of taxes, but the money is beingRead More pillaged instead of used for its intended purpose.....check out 'the facts' on the la habra heights website....their response to charges of embezzlement is to slander me personally.....which has also been the only defense of the city of imperial beach and beaumont....

That's good. I think though that if anyone wants to come they should and some of the folksRead More organizing it will be taking any donations people want to give I think. I was just told by one of the folks organizing it that anyone's welcome.

Richard, just called the Englander.. they said it's not the fundraiser but a remembrance/celebrationRead More event of his life by family and friends. The Englander told us that they are thinking about doing a fundraiser but nothing set in stone just yet. They said they will contact us once they get more information on this.

Um, comprehensive reading. I didn't say you can't have fun. And if your "fun" isRead More dependent upon the music the school is playing over the loudspeaker, then you're not doing it right :) The teachers are the ones upset, and they are there on a regular basis, no? So I trust their opinion on this matter. Again, comprehensive reading. I did not say the HS was ghetto. I said it is perceived to be ghetto. Perhaps partly due to offensive rap music being played over the loudspeakers? Just a thought...

All you parents and adults say that high school is the time to have fun. I have even been toldRead More multiple times how these will be the "best years of my life", yet you have the audacity to say that students should not be able to "laugh and have fun". That is just outrageous to me. The administrators have made it very clear that the songs must me clean and contain no vulgar content. And the student council is extremely good at making sure the songs are just that. Playing music isn't sanctioning any of "these behaviors" that you insist on talking about. Music is just music, it cannot make a student do anything. And have you even been to the high school? It is not ghetto as you say it is. San Leandro High School is an incredible establishment that has given thousands of kids quality educations. People claim that the High School is so bad, yet they don't even know what is going on there. I was asked once if I would want to go to another school and I called that person crazy. San Leandro High is a great place where kids of all different backgrounds can come together to learn, AND to have fun, through creative outlets like art, education, and MUSIC.

Nice try, but I'm not buying it. First of all, this is school sanctioned, so you cannot compareRead More this with what high-schoolers may have done in the past. Lots of high schoolers smoke pot, curse, have sex, etc. also, but that doesn't mean these behaviors need to be sanctioned by the school. How about no music at lunch, they are there to learn not dance, laugh and have fun. Less anyone wonders why San Leandro HS is known as a ghetto school...I give you exhibit above :)
