It is unconscionable that parents would let their children listen to this crap, er, excuse me, rap.…Read More It is vile, derogatory to women, and a racial incendiary. It is probably offensive to just about every race and as such may cause legal actions against the school district for fomenting racial tensions and discrimination. Kudos to the teachers, at least they see over what "dumb administrators" are most likely burying their heads in the sand. Where the hell are the principals and vice-principals and why aren't they doing their jobs?

My daughter is an "early bird" Kindergartener.…Read More My mother who picked her up (and sometimes doesn't hear well) said the school had received a call of a man with a gun on the campus, while the kids were at recess. They went into lockdown which they have diligently been practicing, as recently as this week I believe. I have full trust in the staff at Garfield, and am absoltely grateful for what they do, not only in situations such as this, but every day. However as I said, I would like to know the actual details.

I don't really see this as a big problem for unions. Most members know the value of their union's…Read More activities and representation. A few may refuse to pay but most know that they enjoy high wages and incredibly good benefits only because of the union's political activities. Why would they not want those activities to continue? I see no need to force the few folks who don't want to pay up to do so.

Apparently some that post in here have no idea what a union does. Yes opt in is a default. So what?…Read More As a union investagates all concerns on a ballot that will effect them, and makes susgestions(for the betterment of the union) meaning to the benifit of there members. A majority of members know this and its not a problem. What is a problem is crack pot articles like this. Apparently this article wants a 25,000 member union to have 24,400 members to have to opt in to something they already agree with hoping a lot will not because its another pain in the a@@ in there daily things to do. On the other hand if 600 members feel so strong againt it, then they can opt out.
