Senior Community Center

<p>San Leandro's new Senior Community Center opened April 4. Most city classes and activities for seniors are now based in the building. Some privately-run activities, and classes held jointly with the San Leandro Adult School are also based here. </p> <p>Activities and services include Tai Chi Chuan, fall prevention, ballroom dancing, blood pressure testing, social groups and reduced price lunches. </p> <p>The public can rent the building or activity rooms in the evenings and on weekends. Room rental applications are available through the city's <a href="http://www.sanleandro.org/depts/rec/facilities/senior_community_center/default.asp">website</a>.</p> <p>The center also acts as the city's emergency operations center in the case of a major crisis. </p> <p>The building is LEED Gold certified by the <a href="http://www.usgbc.org/DisplayPage.aspx?CategoryID=19">U.S. Green Building Council</a>. </p>
