Did you know San Leandro has its own bicycling club? The Cherry City Cyclists of San Leandro organize numerous rides each month for bicyclists of all abilities. You do not need to be a member of the club to join one of their rides.
The club invites bikers to view its website ride calendar and either select a "show and go ride" or a ride planned by a leader with a pre-planned route. During the month of August, alone, the club has 15 rides planned. Its rides attract bicyclists from all over the Bay Area.
Its brief mission statement, which you can read here, says it views rides as social events, not races, and welcomes bicyclists of all sorts with many types of bikes. "Every attempt is made to ride together as a group for safety and camaradarie," it explains.
You can find information about their various rides as well as membership information and a downloadable application here. Membership is $24 for an individual and $36 for families.
