There is a great opportunity for local youths who enjoy playing basketball. Alameda Vipers Basketball Club has established teams for boys grades 3 to 8 and girls grades 3 to 5. The Alameda Vipers Club is affiliated with the national Amateur Athletic Union.
The Vipers are now conducting tryouts for their U12 (currently in 6th Grade, going to 7th in the Fall) boys team. Tryouts will be on Monday, June 18, at 8 pm at Alameda Point
The goal of the Vipers organization is to create a foundation for their players to develop their fundamental skills while learning to play true team basketball and related dynamics. Their coaches believe it is important to have continuity as the player and their team develops with each successive year. The club provides a year round program divided into three season. It participates in AAU tournaments and league play, most games are local to the Bay area.
