Adult Beginner Sculling Class
Our Adult Beginner Sculling class teaches the basics from the beginning for those totally new to sculling and rowing! You'll spend your time on the water in singles (1 person) and doubles (2 people) learning proper rowing technique along with boat handling and care. We'll begin rowing in wide, trainer singles, which provide a fairly stable platform to begin learning to handle the boat. Simple exercises to build a base of strength in the body, especially the core, combined with some cardio on the water will help to develop your fitness, balance, and flexibility. At the end of this class, you will take your Beginner Level Captains Test and be ready to progress into our Adult Team or to continue as a recreational rower!
Every participant will get a chance to row out on the beautiful Estuary and develop fitness at his/her own pace. By the end of the five weeks, you'll be comfortable handling your own boat and have a solid foundation for future rowing ventures!
