City Manager's Pitch Starts Floresta Season

Kicks off AA division game Sunday.

City Manager Chris Zapata threw out the ceremonial first pitch Sunday to kick off the Floresta Baseball season at Floresta Park (Monroe School).

After that Zapata's arm took a rest as the machine-pitcher took over in this AA league game between the Braves and Royals.

Opening ceremonies and the parade were a week later than scheduled due to the weather, according to dad Paul Jackman, who contributed the photo.

Why do they use a macine pitcher? Seems to take some of the fun away.
