Video: Hillside School To Reopen Friday; Official Says Students Safe

The murder of Trevion Foster during a dice game led to a shut down at a San Lorenzo elementary school. But it happened at night and students weren't at risk, officials say.

 

About 500 students stayed home Thursday as Alameda County sheriffs deputies scoured Hillside Elementary School in the San Lorenzo Unified School District.

They were investigating the murder of 19-year-old Trevion Foster, whose bullet-ridden body was discovered Wednesday night behind a locked gate on the school's playground. 

The killing is thought to have been connected to a dice game and happened at night, long after school was out.
