SLUSD Donates New Pairs of Shoes, Old Navy Gift Cards to 75 Students

75 students from San Leandro Unified School District received a new pair of shoes and a $50 Old Navy gift card.

San Leandro Unified School District received a donation of 75 pairs of shoes and 75 $50 Old Navy gift cards to distribute to students of families in transition from My New Red Shoes, a non-profit organization. Student Services distributed the shoes and gift cards last Wednesday and Friday to the families.

Each student received a hand-sewn bag with their new pair of shoes, an Old Navy gift card, and other extra goodies.

“The kids are so excited when they get their bag,” says Consuelo Zuluaga, student support services specialist at SLUSD. “It’s like getting candy.”
