Photo Gallery: Class Of 2012 Graduates!

San Leandro High School grads enter the world, diplomas in hand.

The Class of 2012 has departed the Pirate Ship as San Leandro High School is affectionately called. Thursday's graduation ceremony was celebrated with pomp and circumstance and even a few beach balls and the wave.

"You are now ready to figuratively set the world on fire" Principal Linda Granger told the graduates as Fun's hit, "We Are Young" came up through the house speakers. The song cued the graduates to stand simultaneoulsy and recompose their seating arrangement.

Once salutatorians Stacey Lee and Janet Wu and Valedictorian Steven Chen addressed the crowd, it was on to the presentations.

Diplomas were handed out, tassles were flipped, and the San Leandro High School Class of 2012 walked out as high school graduates.

I was at the ceremony yesterday with my family. My sister Stacy Li is in photos 1 and 8. She is that girl wearing a Cal cap. Great speech by her and Janet Wu.

By the way, big thanks to the San Leandro Patch for featuring Stacy on your website. And I wish her good luck on her time at UC Berkeley to be prepared for her brighter future.
