Madison Student Honored in Freedom Bus Art Competition

The artwork of Marilyn Ramirez, a fourth grader at Madison Elementary, is currently on tour with AC Transit.

Name:  Marilyn Ramirez

Grade:  4th Grade/James Madison Elementary School

Accomplishment:  Marilyn received Honorable Mention at the AC Transit Freedom Bus Art Competition and Exhibit entitled "The Power of One Inspires Change for All." The contest was in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Rosa Parks refusal to leave her seat on the bus.

Many other students from Marilyn's class participated along with students from neighboring districts. The contest was open to students from K-12, and the winners of the competition had their artwork displayed on the outside of 200 AC Transit buses.  

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness:  Marilyn's work of art is currently on tour.  The Madison community is very proud of her!!!
