I've not read anything of Roy's and as a liberal I have some differences with her political outlook in many ways but she's pretty impressive here and also raises the class nature of this crime. While all women are victims, working class and poor women are more severly affected which is trues in all these instances. Oh, except in the US of course where there are no classes. We are all equal here, a communist Shangri-La.
I tried to import this video but couldn't figure out how to do it, it's not a You Tube video. I put it on my blog and here is the link for those that wish to see it, it's short, a four minute interview. Rape is something that is a shame on human society, and not simply the violent rapes we hear about but legalized rape which takes place within the confines of the home. Not to mention rape as a weapon of war. It is no wonder so many are not reported given what women have to go through. Look at that serial rapist Strauss Kahn and what they put that working class immigrant woman through. And he's still not in jail.
