Cost Per Square Foot: Homes In San Leandro That Have A Higher Price Tag

Check out this home in Newark that has numerous new interior features

You get what you pay for, the old saying goes.

That's true for homes as much as anything.

With that in mind, we thought we'd take a look this week at houses that cost more per square foot that most homes in their area.

There are a lot of reasons for the higher price tag. Location is probably the main reason. There can also be amenities as well as the size of the yard.

In San Leandro, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 1574 Orchard Ave. is listed at $389,000.

It's 830 square feet, which means its cost more than $450 per square foot.

The residence is listed as "totally remodeled" with new paint, new kitchen and new hardwood floors.
