Night Photography, Car Dealership and Great Attitude

A couple weeks ago I contacted General Sales Manager Richard Slade at FH Dailey Chevrolet about a possible photoshoot of the dealership.  We talked briefly on the phone and he told me to come over to talk to him about what kind of images I would  like to shoot and also the images they would like to use for advertising.

I met Richard a few minutes after we spoke on the phone and we planned a few images that he wanted captured. We decided on some night photography of the outside of the dealership from the Davis St. side, showing some automobiles and the name of the dealership.  Also a shot of the lobby showing the feature cars that they have.

I came early on the first day of the shoot for the lobby images, but, rescheduled due to the harsh morning sun coming through the windows. So, I decided to shoot that image at nighttime.

I came back in the evening at talked to Richard briefly before he left for the day and started setting up my shots. 

Night photography can be very complex without the right tools or experience.  You definitely need some time to prepare, compose and light.

It took me about 2 hours to capture these images and 6 hours for post-production with archiving.  I really liked the final results. 

But, what pleased me the most is not “shooting “this project.  Richard's kindness and attitude were extraordinary.  I also met Jonathan Bruyn on the night of the shoot and he was also very professional to talk to. 

I got some great vibes at this dealership and these folks are great to do business with. Their communication and professional skills are top notch. They have a 2012 Chevy Camaro Transformer Special Edition in the lobby that you must definitely got to check out.
