Watershed Festival & Creek Clean-Up This Saturday in San Leandro

The annual event honors Earth Day

The City of San Leandro and Friends of San Leandro Creek have announced that the annual Earth Day and Watershed Festival will be taking place this Saturday, April 12th at Root Park.  The event will begin at 9:30 a.m.with a creek clean-up, to be followed by the Watershed Festival that will be taking place between 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.   "We all share the responsibility of safeguarding our environment" noted San Leandro City Council Member Michael Gregory.  "I encourage San Leandro residents to celebrate Earth Day this Saturday by joining us at what I know will be a fun-filled Watershed Festival."  

This exciting annual event includes activities for all ages, including storytelling, recycled art projects, as well as opportunities for recycling, composting, and more.  Representatives from the "Food Truck Mafia" will be selling food on site and the Banana Slug String Band will be performing live music.  The event will take place at Root Park, located at the corner of East 14th Street and Hays Street in downtown San Leandro.
