As an incentive, teens will receive a free book when they register and if they complete 10 books by August 10 they will earn prizes and receive an invitation to an August 17 party hosted by the library.  There will also be a drawing for a grand prize of an Xbox gaming system.

Later in the month, on June 16 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. the library will hold a kick-off "camping" event for its children's summer reading program called "Dream Big-Read!".  Children are encouraged to bring their sleeping bags to the San Leandro Main Library at 300 Estudillo Avenue for this event.
