San Leandro Library to Host Presentation on Mental Well-Being

The free event is scheduled for July 10 at 7 p.m.

The San Leandro Library announced that it will be hosting a free presentation and discussion by Author Linda Graham concerning her book, Bouncing Back.

This fascinating book shares lessons on rewiring one's brain for resilience and well-being, and the presentation will cover topics from the book.

The event will be held on Thursday evening, July 10, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Library, located at 300 Estudillo in downtown San Leandro.  This two-hour program is free to the public and includes a book signing opportunity following the event.  Copies of the book will be available for $15 each, cash or check.

Resilience is the ability to face and handle life's challenges, whether everyday disappointments or extraordinary disasters.  While resilience is innate in the brain, over time people can learn unhelpful patterns, which then become fixed in their neural circuitry.  Science is now revealing that what previously seemed hardwired can be rewired, and Bouncing Back demonstrates how. With powerful, time-tested exercises, Ms. Graham provides guidance on how to rebuild core well-being and disaster-proof one's brain.

Ms. Graham holds a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and is an experienced psycho-therapist, consultant, trainer, meditation teacher, and life coach.  She specializes in the integration of relational psychology, somatic resourcing, mindfulness, and neuroscience.
