Now public health authorities hope to highlight the problem with a screening of the HBO Documentary, "The Weight of the Nation."
The screening will occur Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, from 7-9 pm at the Senior Community Center, 13909 E. 14th Street in San Leandro.
Following the screening Vice Mayor Michael Gregory will moderate a panel dis-cussion featuring experts including:
- Dr. Tony Iton, MD - Senior Vice President, Building Healthy Communities, The California Endowment
- Paul Espinas, MD - Pediatrician, Kaiser Permanente
- Pam Stoker, Sutter Health Exercise Physiologist
- Maureen Shapiro, RN - School Nurse, San Leandro Unified School District
