Poll: Should Public Transit Workers Be Allowed to Strike?

The people who make buses and trains go in New York City, Chicago and Washington are prohibited from striking. Does California need a similar law?

By Alex Gronke/Patch

As Bay Area commuters endure another BART strike, some are asking if public transportation workers should be barred from striking, as is often the case with firefighters, cops, air traffic controllers and nurses.

Steven Glazer, an Orinda city councilman running for the State Assembly, is putting a law preventing transit workers from striking at the center of his campaign.
Glazer notes that transit workers in other large metropolitan areas can't use strikes as part of their bargaining tactics.

Would you support a state law preventing transit workers from striking?
