Parcel Tax Supporters Get Campaign Rolling

Measure L proposes to raises property taxes to aid public schools.

 

From the San Leandro Sports Foundation:

Good things are happening in San Leandro.

That's why The San Leandro Sports Foundation supports Measure L.

Yes on Measure L will:

  1. Protect core academic Math, Science and Reading programs
  2. Increase student safety
  3. Keep our libraries open
  4. Prevent class size from increasing
  5. Preserve Art, Music, P.E., and Athletics for our students


Every dime from Measure L is required to stay in San Leandro to improve education in our schools. Measure L cannot be used for administrator salaries. And seniors can request an exemption.

From the county voter pamphlet:

The tax shall be uniformly applied to each Parcel of Taxable Real Property within the following property classifications.

  1. Single Family Residential $39 per parcel
  2. Multi-Family Residential With 2-4 Units $39 per parcel
  3. Multi-Family Residential With 5 or More Units $19 per unit
  4. Commercial/Industrial $0.02 per square foot of lot size
  5. Vacant/Unimproved Parcels $39 per parcel

Vote NO on this parcel tax. Millions in parcel taxes have been misapproved and the money squandered while test scores fall and drop out rates rise. Don't let other people raise your taxes. VOTE NO and then help reinstate the 67% voter approval for parcel taxes.

Rob, *I* provide decent, safe, affordable housing for low income folks. It can be done. Yes, IRead More take Section 8 vouchers. Guess what, they work, and they disperse poverty so you do not end up concentrating poor people into a ghetto. All you're doing is creating ghettos. As for the religious women, surely you understand the difference between charity freely given and taxes confiscated from me at the point of a gun.

As previously mentioned, if there were a "shortage" of affordable housing, rather thanRead More creating a brand new ghetto in the middle of downtown SL, those tax dollars could have gone to buying up blocks of foreclosed houses and fixing them up. But you'd rather build new construction at a higher cost to taxpayers. Wonder why...

It's slightly used but I don't remember where I bought it from. I don't see any brand name on it. IRead More just priced it based on the lowest one available on Amazon. If you're interested, make me an offer. Maybe we can agree on it. Thanks for your inquiry.
