Oakland A's and PG&E to Upgrade Stenzel Park Baseball Field

The field is used by Washington Manor Baseball Little League.

Stenzel Park is receiving a $21,000 upgrade, courtesy of the Oakland A’s and PG&E, according to media reports.

The Hayward Daily Review reported last week that a baseball field at the park, which is used by Washington Manor Little League, will undergo a number of renovations.

Among the improvements are new sod, irrigation, bases, pitcher and catcher mounds and professional grade infield dirt.

The Good Tidings Foundation of San Francisco, a Bay Area nonprofit, will be doing the work, which is slated to be complete in the next week, according to the Review. The field, however, will remain closed for another six weeks to ensure the new sod is secure.

The field that is undergoing improvements is one of four fields at Stenzel Park. The other fields remain open.
