Neighborhood Safety, Raising of Chickens to be Discussed at Town Hall Meeting

Held Jan. 30, topics of discussion will also include neighborhood safety, the new Kaiser Permanente building and the I-880 overpass reconstruction, among others.

San Leandro residents are invited to a town hall meeting for Council Districts 3 and 4 at the end of the month.

Hosted by Mayor Stephen Cassidy and council members Benny Lee and Diana Souza, the meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Marina Community Center, located at 15301 Wicks Blvd.

According to the City of San Leandro website, the meeting will focus on issues in Districts 3 and 4, which encompass the central and southwest portions of San Leandro.

Topics of discussion will include: community safety; proposed ordinances on medical marijuana dispensaries and the raising of bees and chickens; and updates on projects such as the new Kaiser Permanente hospital and I-880 overpass reconstruction, according to the City of San Leandro.
