Bonta vs. Guillen, Flanagan vs. Wiener; Knowles Wins School Board

There will be two showdown elections in November, but Knowles has the votes to take a seat on the county school board.

There will be two runoffs in November for races of interest to San Leandro.

With 98 percent of precincts tallied, Rob Bonta leads in the race for the 18th state Assembly District, which covers most of Oakland along with San Leandro and Alameda. Abel Guillen holds second place, which earns him a position in the November general election where he will face Bonta.

With 92 percent of precincts reporting, Tara Flanagan and Andrew Wiener are heading toward a showdown in November for a Superior Court judgeship.

With 98 percent of precincts reporting, Aisha Knowles has beaten Geraldine Sonobe for the Alameda County Board of Education, and is poised to win the election.
