Irrepressible Candidate Lou Filipovich Dies At 90

Lou Filipovich has passed away at the age of 90, silencing one of San Leandro's most persistent government critics.

According to San Leandro Bytes, Lou ran in at least 30 races but won only two, both Republican primaries.

San Leandro Mayor Stephen Cassidy had this to say: "While we disagreed on many political issues, Lou cared for our community and always pressed policymakers to answer the relevant questions of how much any action would cost and who was paying for it.”
