High Street Bridge Closing Thursday For Safety Fixes

The work is expected to last from about 10 a.m. until noon.

Bay City News --  The High Street Bridge between Oakland and Alameda will be closing for a while today while the Alameda County Public Works Agency makes safety improvements.

The agency is replacing cable netting at the bridge entrance on the Alameda side. When the bridge is raised, in addition to a crossing arm being lowered, the netting drops down from the top of the bridge's framework to block traffic from passing through, an agency official said.
