Ask questions, meet contractors on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Main Library.

San Leandro homeowners can learn how to take advantage of incentives for energy-saving home improvements by attending a free workshop on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Main Library.

“This is an excellent opportunity,” said Mayor Stephen Cassidy, who encouraged all homeowners to come.

Attendees will have a chance to meet participating contractors and ask questions about the incentives.

Up to $4,000 in rebates are available from Energy Upgrade California, a statewide incentive program. For more information on that, homeowners can visit www.EnergyUpgradeCA.org or call 1-855-464-8484

A new program called Energize for the Prize also donates money to local schools when residents get an energy upgrade. Homeowners who sign up for a home energy upgrade can direct $100 to the school of their choice.
