Free Paper Bags And Pickup For Autumn Leaves

City Hall among the places to get up to 15 free paper bags per household. Don't use plastic!

If the crunch of Autumn leaves underfoot in and around your yard has you feeling overwhelmed, the City of San Leandro has something for you that might help.

Many San Leandrans find they have excess  leaves that  won't all fit in their regular garbage carts this time of year.

Did you know that the City of San Leandro provides free paper leaf bags that you can fill and set out on the curb (before 6 a.m.) on your normal garbage pick-up day?

You can pick up the free paper leaf bags at several locations, including these two:

, 835 E. 14th St. on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Alameda County Industries (ACI), 610 Aladdin Avenue, Monday through Friday from 7 am. to 5 p.m.

Here are some tips you should know:

There is a limit of 15 free paper leaf bags per household.

The free bags are only picked up from the curb through January 15.

Leaves placed in plastic garbage bags will not be collected.

The free paper bags are only for leaves and not for branches, sod, dirt or stumps.
