Library to Feature Films About Japanese Internment and Nisei Veterans

Free admission to afternoon screenings of movies at the main library in San Leandro

"As a part of the California Reads grant, featuring the book Farewell to Manzanar by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James D. Houston, the will be showing a series of four library produced oral history films about Japanese American internment and Nisei veterans of WWII

The movies will be shown at the library's main branch at 300 Estudillo Avenue on August 12 and 19 at 1 p.m. Admission is free. No advance registration is needed, but seating is first come, first serve.

Films being shown include California of the past: Stories of Japanese American Internment Series 2 and Legacy of the Nisei.
