Free Family Bike Party Tours San Leandro's Parks

This first-ever event of its kind being planned by the San Leandro Recreation Department on Sept. 9 and it's free.

 

A free family-friendly bike ride including a tour of three of San Leandro's parks is planned for Sunday, Sept. 9.

The day of fun is being organized by the city's recreation department and will also feature music, bike decorating, a bicycle parade and rodeo and a do-it-yourself picnic.

Meet at at 1105 Bancroft Avenue to check-in at 2 p.m. Riders will depart that park between 2:15 and 2:30 p.m. and ride to nearby at 1500 Bancroft Avenue.  Participants can play at Toyon Park from 3 to 3:45 p.m. then it's on to at 1245 147th Avenue for more fun and games and a picnic dinner.

Bring your own picnic in a backpack and remember to wear your helmet. Everyone under age 18 must wear a helmet to take part in the event. No alcohol can be consumed by participants and riders must follow the rules of the road.

Those attending are encouraged to ride their bicycles to the park as car parking is limited.
