Future of San Leandro Hospital & Community Health Care

From a city press release:  An Ad Hoc Committee of the San Leandro City Council, formed to consider the Future of San Leandro Hospital and Community Health Care, will hold its first meeting on Monday, March 26 at 4:30 p.m. in the Sister Cities Gallery at City Hall, 835 East 14th Street.

"The City Council will examine potential outcomes from the litigation between Eden Township Healthcare District and Sutter Health over ownership of San Leandro Hospital," said Mayor Stephen Cassidy.  "San Leandrans need local access to acute and emergency care seven days a week, 24 hours a day.  We wish for San Leandro hospital to remain open and continue to serve our residents and neighbors in nearby communities."

Mayor Cassidy, Vice Mayor Michael Gregory and City Councilmember Reed make up the Ad Hoc Committee.  The Committee's meetings are open to the public.
