First 5 Alameda County Commission Meeting

The First 5 Alameda County Commission meeting will be held December 8 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 1100 San Leandro Blvd, Conference Room A in San Leandro.

All meetings of the commission are open to the public. 

According to the First 5 website, with money from California's Proposition 10 tobacco tax,  the public pays for Every Child Counts, a program that supports health, development and well-being of young children through their first five years.

A nine member volunteer Commission oversees First 5 Alameda County. Commissioners are selected and appointed by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors based upon their expertise in early care and education, health care, social services and children with special needs. The full Commission meets seven times a year.
