Earthquake Work To Hit Parking at Downtown BART

Some spaces will be lost starting Monday as crews strengthen San Leandro's downtown station.

Be prepared for fewer spaces at the downtown BART station.

Starting Monday, earthquake retrofit crews will be strengthening the pylons that support the tracks. In the course of that work some parking spaces will be temporarily taken out of service.

BART says the whole project will take about three months. But work will be done in phases and some spaces will be put back into service sooner than that.

“No Parking” signs will be posted in the designated areas before work begins. Vehicles that are not moved will be subject to ticketing and/or towing.
