Bay Friendly Garden Tour In San Leandro

Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 10.

In collaboration with the East Bay Bicycle Coalition (EBBC), the City of San Leandro will be participating in the Bay Area’s 18th Annual Bike to Work Day, with an Energizer Station at the entrance to the San Leandro BART Station. In preparation for the event, EBBC has been offering free bike safety classes for the past few months. Anyone interested can visit the EBBC website here  to register to enter the free Bike to Work Day Raffle for a chance to win a new bike and other great prizes and to get information and register for Team Bike Challenge.

Citywide Garage Sale & Neighborhood Cleanup Day on Saturday, May 19

Host a garage sale at your house in the morning and later, drop-off electronics, appliances, household batteries, among other things for recycling. To register or more information, go to here or call (510) 577-6026.

Compost Giveaway on Friday & Saturday, June 8 and 9

San Leandro celebrates the success of its Food Scrap Recycling Program by offering free compost to participating residents. Compost is only available during this two day event. Customers may obtain a maximum of two bags per household. Residents must present the coupon provided with their refuse statement.
