Early Voting This Weekend At County Election Offices

The registrar of voters will be open this weekend in both Alameda and Contra Costa counties for early voting in Tuesday's election

Voters will be able to cast their ballots this weekend in Alameda and Contra Costa counties for the Nov. 6 general election.

The registrar of voters is holding early voting this weekend for voters who don't want to go to the polls on Tuesday.

In Alameda County, the elections office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The department is located in the basement of the Alameda County Courthouse, 1225 Fallon St., in Oakland.

Voters can cast ballots or turn in their mail-in ballots.

In Contra Costa County, the elections office will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday only. The office is located at 555 Escobar St. in Martinez.

Stay with Patch over the next few days. We will continue to provide you with the best information on Tuesday's election. We will also have up-to-the-minute results on Tuesday evening on state and national races as well as all the local races in your community.

I hope Newark citizens realise how important the candidates and issues are and get to the polls to vote if they haven't already.
James Nelson November 3, 2012 at 03:11 pm
Election isn't that Important when people are going out of their way to Intimidate and Threat other Voters. Every time there's an Election people get more Stupid and less Civilized. Politics is a Cancer, nothing good comes from it.
Everyone I know is avoiding the Voting Booths. The General Consensus being that the more people who choose a Side the less Stable the playing Field becomes. A woman asked me if there was still time to Register to Vote for the Election, I asked why she was choosing to Vote now (She's Never Voted) and her Answer was that "She felt she had to". Those are the WORST kinds of Voters to exist.
Jennifer McGaffey November 3, 2012 at 03:52 pm
Sorry to hear that, James - in my opinion, the more people who express their opinions in the voting booth the more stable the playing field (that is, our government!) becomes. If you leave it to the extremists and the ones who have been bought, you're going to lose out. Tell everyone from City Hall to the White House what you think and what you feel you need - as best you can, through these limited and often crippled propositions - and I don't think it can make things _worse_.
I agree, however, that the election season shenanigans get worse every time. I spend months concentrating on ignoring all the political ads and dog-and-pony shows, so I can actually think about the individuals and issues. Hard work, but worth it to my mind.

Mr. Nelson we ALL have an obligation to vote...regardless of your opinion.
Ally Gator November 4, 2012 at 04:25 pm
Roger, I respectfully disagree. I don't want those who don't care to vote. I question on what criteria they would base their decisions. A toss of a coin? A roll of the dice. Let those with conviction, who seek to inform their decisions, decide our future.

And you think that plunking down a very low income housing project in the middle of cheap housing inRead More San Leandro is more like Castro Valley? or more like West/East Oakland. It's more like the latter. Can't wait for the drive-by shootings and muggings to ratchet up when we thrown away $9M in tax dollars on building a new downtown SL BART ghetto.

It is unfortunate the Bridge has been unable to stop all crime in Oakland. Sadly, that lesson willRead More probably apply to San Leandro too.

What brand is the pastry cutter?
Rowena Peñalba June 18, 2013 at 11:27 pm
It's slightly used but I don't remember where I bought it from. I don't see any brand name on it. IRead More just priced it based on the lowest one available on Amazon. If you're interested, make me an offer. Maybe we can agree on it. Thanks for your inquiry.

Leah, do you have the authorization from Disney for the use of the copyrighted Dumbo character youRead More use for your blog? I thought that the policy of Patch was to deny access to non-authorized materials such as this.
Leah Hall June 2, 2013 at 08:12 pm
Nope.
