Disability Advocates Town Hall This Morning

Groups will gather from 9:30 to 12:00 to protest state budget cuts.

The East Bay Developmental Disabilities Legislative Coalition will host a Town Hall Meeting in Oakland to oppose Governor Brown’s proposed budget reductions that will affect over 30,000 children, adults and seniors.

The meeting will occur Friday, Jan. 27, from 9:30 am to 12 noon at the State Building Auditorium, 1515 Clay Street, Oakland.

The Governor’s 2012-13 budget proposal calls for an additional $200 million reduction to developmental disability services on top of over $1 billion in cuts over the course of the last three years, the group said.
