This isn't a joke, though it may seem funny.
State Senator Mary Hayashi has asked members of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors if she has a shot at being appointed to the vacancy created by the resignation of Nadia Lockyer, according to published reports.
Hayashi, who got caught shoplifting from Neiman Marcus, has chalked it up to a medical issue and remained in the state senate though she cannot run for re-election.
Lockyer resigned to focus on recovering from a sex and drugs scandal, creating an interesting vacancy.
Who would you like to see get the job?
