City To Consider $10,000 Reward in Triple-Homicide Case

Will a $10,000 reward from the city help police solve the that occurred outside a warehouse party in San Leandro's industrial district on Oct. 2nd?

That's what the City Council will consider when it meets Monday night.

"The feeling we have is that several people know who the shooter is," said San Leandro Police Department spokesman Sergeant Doug Calcagno.

Sherri-Lyn Miller, who runs a business in San Leandro that makes memorial , is doubtful.

"Frankly, $10,000 ain't gonna make a bit of difference," said Miller, who keeps in touch with more than 1,100 young people in the East Bay through her Facebook page.

"They're not going to come forward for fear of retaliation," she said. "People end up dead for talking to the police and these kids know that."

Calcagno acknowledged that police have had issues getting information from the young attendees of the warehouse party that took place at 2661 Alvarado St.

"They either don't trust us or consider this to be snitching," he said. "And that's unfortunate because they and their friends are the victims."

Police have an anonymous tip line at 510-577-3278.

They have also released a sketch and description of a "" in the case.
